10 Cars Discontinued in 2015
10 Cars Discontinued in 2015
Every year, a few cars are discontinued. This means that if you’ve been dying to get your hands on a certain make and model, you’ll have to settle for a used car. As styles come and go, you’ll find that even the most popular vehicles on the market are pushed aside.
Let’s take a look at 10 cars discontinued in 2015.
1. Chevy SS
The powerful Chevy SS boasted 415 horsepower and was an aesthetic beauty. Unfortunately, the model only sold 2,100 units and will stop being made in 2015.
2. Jaguar XK
Luxury at its finest. The Jaguar XK is stopping production in 2015 due to the company deciding to invest money elsewhere in its lineup.
3. Ford Flex
The Flex has been missing sales estimates since it was introduced in 2008. The vehicle has not been officially discontinued, but there are no reports stating that it will make its return after 2015. This is a strong indicator that the Flex will be no more.
4. Dodge Durango
If you’re a fan of the Dodge Durango, you’ll be sad to know that it will be discontinued after 2015. Dodge is focusing on three-row, seven-passenger Jeeps and moving away from the famed Durango SUV.
5. Dodge Grand Caravan
Soccer moms made the Grand Caravan famous. But the company will be ditching the Caravan in favor of the Chrysler Town and Country.
6. Chrysler 200
The 200 convertible is a beautiful car that has seen its sales plummet. The model has not be redesigned in 2015 and will be another model that has failed under the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
7. Dodge Avenger
The Dodge brand is undergoing a major overhaul, and the Avenger has not made the list of vehicles that the company will keep. Also owned by Fiat Chrysler, the Avenger will stop production this year after being revived in 2007.
The company states that they will focus on the Chrysler brand moving forward.
8. Honda Acura TL
The Honda Acura TL will no longer be produced. Unlike some of the models on the list, the TL is being replaced by the TLX. The new TLX is a midsize sedan that has had its style upgraded to bring in new sales.
The TL has been in production since 1996.
9. Mini Cooper
Small and compact, the Mini Cooper launched in 2001 and changed the automotive industry. While the vehicle will still exist, the company is phasing out the Paceman, Coupe and Roadster models of the Mini Cooper.
10. Nissan Cube
The Nissan Cube is a very interesting model. Nissan took a chance with the vehicle’s unique look, and unfortunately, the vehicle did not appeal to American consumers. Nissan has put a stop to the Cube’s production and will no longer offer this model – not in America at least.
The Cube was a big hit in the Japanese market.
There are a lot of vehicles that didn’t make our list. A few of the best-known models not included are the:
- Scion xD
- Nussan Murano
- Toyota RAV4 EV
- Toyota FJ Cruiser
- Volkswagen Routan
